CHARITIES

Each year our master chooses one main charity and that becomes the focus for our fundraising during the year. Trinity Lodge also supports many local charities and good causes with smaller donations.

Our master's charity in 2023/24 is the Thanet Branch of Parkinsons UK. Local branches provide a place to meet, speech therapy, exercise classes and activities that make a very real difference to the likes of sufferers and their carers.

In 2022/23 we raised £5,500 for Foreland Fields Charity. Closely associated with Foreland Fields School, it aims to support the school by providing and assisting in the provision of activities, equipment, and facilities which are not a statutory requirement for the local education authority (Kent County Council) to provide for the school.

In 2021/22 we raised £8,600 for CALM - the Campaign Against Living Miserably, a leading movement against suicide.

Our master's charity in 2019/20 and 2020/21 was Catching Lives, an independent charity aimed at supporting the rough sleepers, homeless and vulnerably housed in Canterbury and East Kent. Despite Covid-19 impacting many of our meetings, we raised £4,356

In 2020 we also raised over £9,000 for the purchase of face masks and other PPE for distribution to local organisations in support of the effort to fight Covid-19.

In 2018/19 we raised over £5,000 for the Children's Diabetes Team at East Kent Hospitals.

The lodge is also supporting the Province of East Kent 2025 Festival which raises funds across the county. The festival aims to raise £3,500,000 by 2025.
